Weddings at Redeemer Detroit
The celebration of marriage is a precious, glorious ceremony, deserving of a truly beautiful space. Stained glass windows, stunning murals, hand-poured terrazzo flooring, and original marble altar pieces distinguish Redeemer Detroit and provide the picture-perfect setting for a wedding. We are happy to welcome both church members and non-members to get married in our church.
History & Location
Historic and beautiful, St. Leo’s Catholic Church became Redeemer Presbyterian Church Detroit in 2015, bringing new life to a community icon. Conveniently located at the intersection of three Detroit suburbs, Redeemer Detroit grants easy access to North Corktown, Woodbridge, and Core City. Navigation to I-94, I-96, the Lodge Freeway, and I-75 are minutes away, providing easy access to reception venues within the greater Detroit area.
Biblical Marriage
Redeemer Detroit holds a covenantal, Biblical view of marriage within the Christian tradition. We confess that Jesus is Lord and believe in our hearts that God raised him from the dead. We profess the purposes of a Christian wedding are to worship God and to acknowledge God’s gracious love in joining together one man and one woman in a Christ-honoring service; to hear words of encouragement and admonition from the Scriptures and to pray for guidance; to make a public promise of faithfulness to each other in the marriage vows.
Services & Accommodations
From intimate elopements to large ceremonies of 400 guests, we provide a range of services to accommodate weddings of any size. All rentals include the use of our beautiful sanctuary, rooms for bridal party preparation, wedding rehearsal time, and sound technician services for your ceremony, and an on-site church wedding coordinator to help answer your questions. We welcome guests to bring their own pastor to officiate their ceremony. For rehearsal dinners, wedding receptions, and more, our recently renovated Fellowship Hall downstairs can comfortably seat up to 160 guests.
