We believe community is built and best served as we gather together with others for the purposes of Reaching In through serving the church in its worship, and Reaching Out through service out in the city, especially to those who are hurting and marginalized.
At Redeemer, we seek to be a church that not only takes care of its own, but faces outward and seeks the good of the city we inhabit. We have a variety of Mercy Ministries that serve different parts of our surrounding community.
Kids’ Hope USA
We mentor at-risk children at GEE Edmonson Academy as part of a church/school partnership established through Kids’ Hope USA. These partnerships take on the enormous challenge of kids at risk—one child, one hour, one church, and one school at a time—through one-on-one mentoring relationships.
St. Vincent DePaul
Pastor Dan and Laura Millward meet with clients each week to assess needs and provide vouchers to much-needed services, such as food, housing, clothing, or furniture through St. Vincent de Paul.
Mariners Inn provides services to men who have substance use or co-occurring disorders.
We have a continuing partnership with Mariners to offer tutoring each Tuesday to men seeking their GED, and host a Game Night on the 1st and 3rd Tuesdays of each month.
Serving on Sundays
Whether it’s putting out signs, brewing coffee, greeting visitors, or reading our sermon text, contact Amy Ervin, the Ministry Coordinator, to lend a hand.
We are in need of those with particular giftedness and passion to work with kids in childcare and discipleship for both our Nursery and Sunday school classes. Contact Tiffany Binder, our Children’s Ministry Coordinator, to get involved.
Host or help lead a small group by joining us for a Redeemer Group Leaders Training. For more information, contact Pastor Jon Saunders.
